A seminar on "Insides of BNBC and Building Practices" was held on 23rd October, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am organized by Department of Civil Engineering, UAP under CE Seminar Series. The key speaker of the seminar was Md. Rafiqul Islam, Superintending Engineer, PWD Design Circle-1, Dhaka.

The seminar was inaugurated by the opening speech of Dr. Md Ashraful Alam, head, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Asia Pacific. He welcomed the speaker and all the participants.

Md. Rafiqul Islam started his presentation introducing PWD, its activities and achievements. In the first part of the presentation, he introduced BNBC-20 and several design criteria under BNBC and also talked about necessary permits. In the second part, he discussed different construction practices including the use of bracing, shore piles, king posts etc. He then highlighted different types of construction negligence and also illustrated the work procedure of a site engineer.

The seminar was ended by the vote of appreciation by head, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Asia Pacific. Miss Zarin Tasnim, Lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering coordinated the seminar and about 40 participants attended it.
