B. Sc. in Civil Engineering, BUET, 2017

Tanzila Islam joined University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in 2021 as a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering. Before joining UAP, she worked as a lecturer in Daffodil International University (DIU) in 2020, and as a Research Associate in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) from 2017. She received her B.Sc. Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2017; and M.Sc. in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2020.

Tanzila Islam has written several journals, conference papers and technical reports; and delivered presentation at a number of national and international conferences, workshops and seminars. She received Best Paper Award on the paper entitled “Bioengineering Technique for Protecting Submersible Roads in Haor Districts of Bangladesh” at the 2 nd Conference of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (CAJG-2), Tunisia, which was held on 2019.

She teaches theoretical and sessional courses on Geotechnical Engineering and basic civil engineering undergraduate programs. Her research interests and previous research works include different aspects of geotechnical engineering, such as slope stabilization, ground improvement, soil bioengineering, field and laboratory characterization of soils, ecological engineering, disaster management, climate change adaptation etc.
