Ms. Zarin Tasnim has been a lecturer at UAP since March 2019. Before joining at UAP, she was a lecturer at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Bangladesh.

She completed her BSc in Civil Engineering from BUET in September 2017 with a major in Environmental Engineering. Her undergraduate thesis topic was ‘ Effect of Bicarbonate on Arsenic Removal’ and it was done under the supervision of Prof. M. Ashraf Ali. She is currently pursuing her Msc in Environmental Engineering, BUET. She has completed her theory courses and currently working on her thesis on the study of quantity of detergent present in different water bodies and developing a correlation between detergent quantity and different water quality parameters.

Her conference paper on the ‘Effect of bicarbonate on arsenic removal by coagulation and adsorption’ has won the ‘Best paper award’ at the International Conference on Civil Engineering and Water Resources . She also has a journal publication on her thesis topic at the Global Science and Technology Journal, Australia.

Her research interest includes water quality analysis, study on the current conditions of the water bodies, aquatic chemistry, hardness and bioaccumulation.
