Department of Pharmacy gives awards Prof. Dr. Habibur Rahman award

 

Prof. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman Scholarship Program has been organized by the Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific at the Pharmacy auditorium on Monday, 8th July, 2013. The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific. Mrs. Habibur Rahman was present as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee, Vice President of Bangladesh Pharmacy Council and Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, were present as special guests. Pro-Vice Chancellor of UAP, Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid, Prof. Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Prof. Dr. Mehedi Masud, Prof. Dr. Shaila Kabir of University of Dhaka, distinguished guests from Pharmaceutical industries were also present. Head, Department of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan gave the inaugural speech. The guests shared their priceless experiences with Prof. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, former Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka. A presentation reflecting the memorable events of Prof. Dr. Habibur Rahman were also shown.

Prof. Dr. Kabir, Pro-Vice Chancellor mentioned in his speech that "it is the duty of the university to honor Prof. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman for his contribution to this university. The scholarship was rewarded to two meritorious students, Maliha Rownak Ara Khan and Rajia Sultana of 4th Year, for their highest grades in "Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics" courses. Prof. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman was and will always be in the hearts of all the people in this university. In the concluding speech Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury expressed his gratefulness to Prof. Rahman for his contribution to UAP and thanked the Department for the initiative to introduce such scholarship. The esteemed guests have taken a serious note on the plan to continue the scholarship in every university in future in the honor of Prof. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman.
