University of Asia Pacific celebrates silver jubilee

 

University of Asia Pacific, founded in 1996, arranged a virtual discussion on 25th February 2021 celebrating its 25th founding anniversary.

With the motto of “celebrating 25th glorious years of University of Asia Pacific”, the virtual meeting was addressed by Mr. C. M. Shafi Sami, Chairperson, Board of Trustees (BOT) as the chief guest.

In his speech, Mr. Sami recalled the contribution made by late Mr. Hedayet Ahmed, the founder Vice Chancellor who dreamt an institution with academic excellence. He added, UAP started its journey 25 years ago at the some rented buildings in Dhanmondi areas with 3 students, now we can proudly say that the university has a permanent campus at the heart of city with more than 5 thousand students.

The event was also addressed by Prof. Dr. Md. Sultan Mahmud, the Acting Vice Chancellor, UAP. He wished to congratulate all the alumni of UAP, current students, proud guardians, members of BOT, Deans and Heads of the departments, faculty members, and officials for being part of this wonderful institution.

Mr. Alamzeb Farjad Ahmed, Treasurer, BOT, Mr. Qayum Reza Chowdhury, Former Chairperson, BOT, Mr. A.K.M. Kamaluddin Choudhury, Former Chairperson, BOT, Prof. Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, Dean, School of Environmental Sciences and Design, Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir, Dean, School of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Abdul Matin Patwari, Former Vice Chancellor, and Air Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, UAP also spoke on this occasion while three alumni also shared their thoughts.
