The Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), organized an industrial visit to Incepta Pharmaceuticals PLC, Zirabo, Dhaka, on May 7, 2026, with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to modern pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control practices, and industrial operations. A total of 40 students participated in the visit, accompanied by five faculty members: Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean; Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head of the Department; Md. Asaduzzaman; Mahjabeen Gazi; and S. M. Rakibul Hossain.

During the visit, the UAP Pharmacy team explored several key operational units of Incepta Pharmaceuticals PLC. The students visited the Biotechnology Unit, where they observed different aspects of insulin manufacturing and gained valuable insights into advanced biopharmaceutical production processes. This experience provided them with a clearer understanding of the specialized techniques, controlled environments, and regulatory considerations involved in biotech-based pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The students also visited the Solid Manufacturing Unit, where they observed large-scale production activities related to solid dosage forms. The visit enabled them to relate classroom knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, production processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to real industrial applications. In addition, the team visited the Quality Control Department, where they learned about analytical testing, quality assurance procedures, and the importance of maintaining product safety, efficacy, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The visit also included a tour of the warehouse facility, allowing students to understand the importance of proper storage, inventory management, documentation, and supply chain control in the pharmaceutical industry.
This hands-on industrial exposure helped students connect theoretical concepts with practical pharmaceutical operations, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, quality control, biotechnology, warehouse management, and regulatory compliance. Such experiential learning initiatives play an important role in preparing pharmacy students for professional careers in the pharmaceutical sector.

The Department of Pharmacy, UAP, expressed sincere appreciation to the management and officials of Incepta Pharmaceuticals PLC for their warm hospitality, valuable guidance, and support throughout the visit. The program concluded with a strong emphasis on strengthening industry–academia collaboration and enhancing students’ practical knowledge, professional confidence, and readiness for future pharmaceutical practice.
