
On May 12, 2026 The History and Heritage Club of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized it's first-ever flagship event, Know Thyself: Inter-Department Competition Season 1.0 on May 12, 2026.

The event featured two guest speakers: Ikramul Hasan Shakil, the 7th Bangladeshi to summit the Mount Everest and Rifat Jahan Shaon, widely known as the Youngest Traveler of Bangladesh. The event included 4 competitive segments ranging from live drawing, group poster presentation, essay writing and quiz. Around 150 participants from all the departments of the university participated in the event.

The event was inaugurated by Md. Anisuzzaman, Professor, Department of Printmaking, University of Dhaka; Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head, Department of Pharmacy, UAP; Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury, Head, Department of English; Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, Acting Director, Directorate of Students' Welfare (DSW), UAP; Mr. Taorem Rahul Singha, Lecturer, Department of Architecture, UAP; Ms. Afra Anan Saba, Lecturer, Department of Architecture, UAP and Ms. Farhana Akter Akhi, Adviser, History and Heritage Club, UAP.

In the live drawing segment, Dibya Chakma from the Department of EEE secured the 1st position, while Sanjida Sabiha Ahana from the Department of English secured the 2nd position and Sayma Sarmin Rifa from the Department of Pharmacy secured the 3rd position respectively. On the other hand, Kayes Ahammed Biplob from the Department of CSE topped the quiz segment. Sadia Islam Kashfia from the Department of English came 2nd and Md. Iftekhar Islam Hridoy from the Department of EEE secured the 3rd position.

In the essay segment, Nafisa Tabassume Reedy from the Department of English secured the 1st position followed by Alif Amina Ivy and Tashfia Sattar, both students of English, who secured the 2nd position and 3rd position respectively. In the poster segment, the group consisting of Zarin Tasnim Disha and Sumya Tabassum secured the 1st position. Ayesha Tabassum Kabir and Rushaba Fatama from the Department of English secured the 2nd and Mahfuza Ferdoush Prova, student of Architecture and Mahjabin Ferdous Sristy, student of CSE secured the 3rd position.

Following the competitions, Ikramul Hasan Shakil shared his courageous journey from sea to summit and discussed his future prospects. Rifat Jahan Shaon shared anecdotes from his journey of visiting 64 districts of Bangladesh and inspired the audience to set goals for new adventures. The audience enjoyed a cultural segment following the sessions.
