UAP Faculty Member Wins 3rd Place in the Dewan Award for Architecture 2023

Mr. Taorem Rahul Singha, Lecturer, Department of Architecture, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), has achieved the Medal for securing 3rd Place in the Dewan Award for Architecture 2023, organized by the Tamayouz Excellence Award.

The prestigious award ceremony was held in Baghdad, Iraq, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Iraq on 4th October 2025.
The Dewan Award for Architecture is an annual international competition that celebrates innovative architectural solutions addressing Iraq’s urban challenges. The theme of the 2023 competition focused on transforming Basra’s Dakeer Island into a vibrant urban destination.

Among 137 submissions from 33 countries, Mr. Singha’s design was highly praised by the jury for its clarity of vision, cohesive architectural language, and deep respect for the historical and cultural identity of the site.
