UAP Welcomes Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza as Adjunct Professor

The School of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), organized a warm welcoming session to formally welcome Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmacy. Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor, UAP, was present to extend his warm welcome and best wishes. The session was hosted by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean, School of Pharmacy, who introduced Professor Dr. Selim Reza and highlighted his academic background, professional experience, and expertise, emphasizing his potential contribution to the academic development of the department.

Following the welcome session, Professor Dr. Selim Reza delivered a presentation titled "Exploring Correlation of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Bangladeshi Nutraceuticals," based on his recent academic and professional visit to China. He shared valuable insights into Chinese pharmaceutical education, research infrastructure, pharmaceutical manufacturing, clinical research, hospital pharmacy services, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He also highlighted opportunities for Bangladesh-China collaboration through joint research, faculty and student exchange, postgraduate education, training, and knowledge sharing. The potential of Bangladesh's medicinal plants and biodiversity for developing evidence-based nutraceuticals through scientific validation was also emphasized.

A formal felicitation session was subsequently arranged to celebrate Professor Dr. Selim Reza's appointment. Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Professor Dr. Zabun Nahar, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Professor Dr. Irin Dewan, and other faculty members extended their congratulations and best wishes. Senior faculty members shared their memories and previous experiences with Professor Reza, followed by the presentation of a flower bouquet as a token of welcome and appreciation. The faculty expressed their enthusiasm for future academic, research, healthcare, and professional collaborations.
