Students of 7th & 8th semesters of Department of Business Administration (DBA) enrolled in the course of Operations, Planning and Control in the BBA program went for an industrial visit to TIC Manufacturing (Bangladesh) Limited on May 3, 2026. As the course teacher, Dr. Mahbubul Haque, Professor, DBA, accompanied them and guided them during the visit.
Situated at the Meghna Industrial Economic Zone, Sonargaon, Narayanganj, the manufacturing facility at the TIC Manufacturing (Bangladesh) Limited, is spread over an area of 132,000 square feet. It manufactures plastic garment hangers and supplies to garment manufacturers of Bangladesh for exporting to retailers worldwide. Upon arrival at the premises, the team from DBA was greeted by Mr. Burhanul Huq, General Manager (Factory). Subsequently, Mr. Ashrafuzzaman, Senior manager (Planning) made a presentation on the TIC Manufacturing Ltd. as well as various issues related to forecasting, supplier selection, production process, HR issues, etc. Once the presentation was over, students were divided into two teams and were led by Mr. Huq and Mr. Zaman into the production floor at TIC.
During their plant visit, the students gained first-hand experience of the actual hanger production floor environment, its automated injection molding machines with robotic arms, the manufacturing process, inventory management, quality control, manual assembly, sizer printing and packing. It was a fruitful visit for the students as far as their experiential learning was concerned. This industrial visit was made as part of DBA's practice of giving the students a real-life exposure to the various theoretical issues covered during classroom teaching and learning.
TTowards the end of the visit, Professor Dr. Haque expressed their gratitude to the authority at TIC Manufacturing (Bangladesh) Ltd. for their hospitality & exchange of ideas, and handed over crests and gifts to the Factory Manager, Mr. Burhanul Huq.
