Seminar on “Role of a Pharmacist in the Marketing Department of Pharmaceuticals” organized by Seminar Organizing Club, Department of Pharmacy

On May 13, 2026, the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Asia Pacific organized a seminar titled “Role of a Pharmacist in the Marketing Department of Pharmaceuticals” at the UAP Auditorium. The seminar aimed to provide students with practical insight into the significant role pharmacists play in the pharmaceutical marketing sector and the diverse career opportunities available in this field.
The department was honored to welcome Md. Hazrat Ali, Assistant General Manager, marketing department, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., as the guest speaker. Drawing on his extensive professional experience, Mr Ali delivered an insightful and engaging session on pharmacists' responsibilities in pharmaceutical marketing, strategic planning, and product promotion, as well as the increasing demand for pharmacy graduates in the corporate healthcare sector.

Among the distinguished attendees were Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean School of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head of Department of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Swarnali Islam Khandaker, Controller of Examinations, Ramisa Anjum, Assistant Professor and Fahmida Tasnim Richi, Lecturer from department of Pharmacy. The event was hosted by Samiha Mahnaz, Lecturer of department of Pharmacy and Arifa Tasnim, 3rd Year 1st semester student.
The seminar created an interactive platform where students gained valuable knowledge about the integration of pharmaceutical sciences with marketing strategies and business development. The discussion also highlighted the importance of communication skills, ethical marketing practices, and professional adaptability in the pharmaceutical industry. The session was highly engaging and reflected the keen interest and enthusiasm of the participants.

The program was organized by the Seminar Organizing Committee, Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific, with the objective of enhancing students’ professional awareness and industry-oriented knowledge.
