UAP proudly participated in the Inter University Table Tennis Fest

Under the initiative of the Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation and with sponsorship from sports apparel brand Turag Active, a vibrant two-day Inter University Table Tennis Fest was successfully held at the Table Tennis Stadium in Gulistan, Dhaka. The tournament brought together nearly 200 table tennis players from around 30 public and private universities across Bangladesh, creating a competitive and energetic sporting atmosphere. The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) proudly participated in the tournament through two segments: The Men’s Team event and the Women’s Singles event. Representing the university, the players demonstrated determination, skill, and strong sportsmanship while competing against some of the best university-level table tennis players in the country.

On the opening day of the competition, 16 February, both UAP segments delivered commendable performances and successfully qualified for the Round of 16 stage. Their qualification reflected the team’s preparation, discipline, and competitive spirit, earning appreciation from spectators and fellow participants. The knockout matches took place on the following day, 17 February, where UAP competitors faced tough opponents from other universities. Despite a spirited effort, the UAP representatives were eliminated from the tournament in the Round of 16. Although the journey ended at this stage, the experience gained from competing at a national inter university platform proved invaluable for the players. Participation in such a competitive environment allowed the UAP athletes to test their skills against strong opponents and gain significant exposure to high level tournament play. The event also provided an opportunity for the players to learn from different playing styles and strategies demonstrated by participants from leading universities.

The UAP Indoor Games Club expressed pride in the players’ dedication and performance. The club emphasized that the experience from this tournament will serve as an important foundation for future improvement and preparation. With continued practice, training, and teamwork, UAP aims to return stronger in the upcoming inter-university competitions. The Inter University Table Tennis Fest once again highlighted the growing popularity of table tennis at the university level in Bangladesh and served as a platform for young athletes to develop their talent. For UAP, the tournament marked not only a competitive challenge but also an inspiring learning experience that will help shape future achievements in university sports.
