University of Asia Pacific (UAP) hosted the ‘Aamar Rokkhok Ami’ awareness event on woman health on 12 August 2025 at the auditorium. Presented by Meghna Group of Industries’ flagship brand Fresh Anonna Sanitary Napkin and jointly organized by the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), the Women’s Federation for World Peace, Bangladesh (WFWP) and GoGirl, the initiative aims to enhance the social and personal safety of female students and working women across Bangladesh, while also promoting health awareness, economic self-reliance, and nutrition.
As part of the program, a half-day awareness session was conducted for 100 female students. The session covered key topics including personal and menstrual hygiene, food and nutrition, self-defense, self-protection, safety, respectful behavior, basic banking, legal rights, and prevention of sexual exploitation. Delivered by renowned professionals, the sessions equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills to boost confidence and ensure personal well-being.
The event was graced by Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees; UAP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan; and Engr. Asfa Khan, Joint Secretary of the UAP EEE Alumni Association, along with members of the Board of Trustees and faculty members. Their participation reflected UAP’s strong commitment to women’s empowerment and community engagement.
Distinguished guests included H.E. Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed, Honorable Ambassador of the Maldives; WFWP President Mehreen Mahmud; and Kazi Mohammad Mohiuddin, Senior General Manager (Brand) of Meghna Group of Industries. The panel of expert speakers featured Dr. Ipsita Ibrahim Ridita, Lecturer and Public Health Specialist at Gonoshasthaya Medical College; Ayesha Mridula, Taekwondo Specialist; and Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Banking Management Consultant.
By hosting this initiative, University of Asia Pacific reaffirmed its dedication to empowering women through education, safety awareness, and skill development—aligning academic excellence with tangible social impact.
