Department of Pharmacy, UAP, Celebrates World Pharmacists Day with a Seminar on Female Contraception Awareness

The Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific, organized an informative seminar on “Female Contraception Awareness” in collaboration with Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd. to celebrate World Pharmacists Day 2024.

The event was held at the UAP Auditorium on 26th September at 3:30 PM aiming to raise awareness about various contraception options available to women for their better reproductive health. The seminar was attended by esteemed guests, faculty members, and students. Among the distinguished guests were Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Dean, School of Medicine; Prof. Dr. Irin Dewan, Head, Department of Pharmacy; Mr. Minhaj Hossain; and Mr. Asadullah Al Galib, Marketing Managers of Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The seminar began with an educational and insightful presentation by Dr. Ramisa Anjum, a Master Trainer from Organon, USA, on different female contraception options with their usage and effectiveness. Following the session, Dr. Joysree Saha, Associate Professor, Popular Medical College & Hospital, conducted an interactive Q&A segment addressing queries from students and faculty members.

In the next session, Mr. Riduanul Islam Bhuiyan, Product Manager, Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd, delivered a comprehensive presentation on Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), highlighting its reliability and advantages.

At the end of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Irin Dewan delivered a vote of thanks and presented a crest as a token of appreciation to Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd. for their collaboration in making the event a success. She also thanked the entire organizing team, including Mr. Faisal Abdullah Emon, Lecturer; Mr. Jannatul Naim, Lecturer; and Ms. Nasiba Binte Bahar, Lecturer for successfully arranging the seminar. The seminar was a milestone for the Department of Pharmacy in fostering women’s health.
