UAP Hosts Seminar on Legal and Ethical Aspects of AI

The Department of Law and Human Rights, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized a seminar on “Legal and Ethical Aspects of Deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI)” on Monday, 24 February 2025. The event took place at 11:00 AM in the UAP Auditorium, attracting faculty members and students eager to explore the implications of AI in law and ethics.

Dr. Md. Mahatab Uddin, Adjunct Professor and Post-Doctoral Researcher at the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development at the University of Guelph, Canada, served as the keynote speaker.
The seminar provided an interactive platform for discussions on the legal implications of AI, including issues of data privacy, bias in AI algorithms, and the responsibilities of developers and policymakers. Students and faculty members actively engaged in the dialogue, sharing their perspectives and raising thought-provoking questions.

Md. Asaduzzaman, Head of the Department of Law and Human Rights, concluded the seminar by delivering a vote of thanks to Dr. Uddin and all participants. He expressed gratitude for the insightful discussions and encouraged further academic engagements on the evolving legal landscape of AI.
