YES! We Can Do – Fostering Positive Changes in Youth

The UAP Youth Engagement and Support (YES) Group, in collaboration with Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), successfully organized the seminar "YES! We Can Do – Fostering Positive Changes in Youth" at University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on 25th February 2025. The event aimed to inspire young individuals to take an active role in creating positive societal change through integrity, leadership, and civic engagement.

The seminar commenced with an introduction to UAP YES Group by Saniur Rahman, President of UAP-YES, followed by the screening of the TIB theme song, setting the tone for an insightful discussion. Ms. Nayeema Sultana, Convenor of UAP YES Group, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of youth-led initiatives in promoting transparency and accountability. Kazi Shafiqur Rahman, Coordinator of the Civic Engagement Division at TIB, delivered a compelling speech, shedding light on the role of young people in combating corruption and fostering ethical governance. Prof. Dr. Sheikh Anwar Hossain, Treasurer, University of Asia Pacific was also present in the seminar.

To engage the audience, an interactive slogan session was conducted, reinforcing the seminar's core message. The event also featured a special segment showcasing iconic comedy scenes of the renowned actor and playwright Faruque Ahmed, who later took the stage as the keynote speaker. He delivered an inspiring speech on youth empowerment, ethics, and social responsibility. His words resonated deeply with the audience, encouraging them to take meaningful action in their communities.

A pivotal moment of the seminar was the "TIB Oath", led by "Faruque Ahmed", where participants reaffirmed their commitment to honesty and integrity. The event proceeded with the "Prize Giving Ceremony", recognizing winners of the "Idea Generation Competition" and the "Anti-Corruption Title Writing Competition", initiatives designed to spark creative solutions and advocacy among students.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks from Associate Professor Dr. A. S. M. Mohsin, acknowledging the contributions of the speakers, participants, and organizers. The event successfully reinforced the power of youth-driven change, leaving attendees motivated to embrace leadership and integrity in their pursuit of a better society.
