Department EEE organized a Seminar on “My Journey in the World of Crystallography” in the UAP Auditorium

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) hosted an engaging seminar titled "My Journey in the World of Crystallography," supported by the IEEE UAP Student Branch on 2nd December 2024 in the UAP Auditorium. The seminar has been arranged to provide a deeper understanding of crystallography and its significant impact on various scientific fields.

The seminar featured Dr. Ashfia Huq, a renowned crystallography expert who shared her inspiring journey through the intricate world of crystals. Drawing on years of experience, the speaker captivated the audience with insightful anecdotes, personal challenges, and breakthroughs in the field.

Throughout the seminar, Dr. Huq highlighted the importance of crystallography in advancing research in areas such as chemistry, biology, and material science. She discussed how crystallographic techniques have played a pivotal role in understanding the structure of complex molecules, including the groundbreaking work on COVID-19.

Students and faculty in attendance were captivated by the speaker’s passion for crystallography and the real-world applications of this branch of science. The seminar provided a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with cutting-edge research and learn about the latest developments in the field.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which attendees had the chance to interact with the speaker, gaining further insights into the challenges and rewards of a career in crystallography. The seminar was well-received by all participants and provided an inspiring glimpse into the world of scientific discovery. This event not only contributed to the academic development of the participants but also reinforced the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing scientific knowledge.

Later, the Chief Guest of the event, Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of BoT, UAP, addressed the audience and shared her thoughts on the speaker. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of UAP, who also expressed his gratitude and delivered the thanksgiving speech, acknowledging the contributions of all those involved in making this event a success.

A special moment of appreciation was marked when the Head of the Department of EEE, UAP presented a token of appreciation to the speaker, recognizing her valuable contribution to the field of crystallography and her engagement in presenting the seminar at UAP.

At the conclusion of the seminar, some group photos were captured to commemorate this memorable occasion, bringing together all the attendees, speakers, and distinguished guests.
