UAP Central Drama Club staged a spectacular drama titled “Eikhane Shobkhane” at the UAP auditorium on 22nd March 2023. The drama was written by Shahin Rahman and directed by Fahim Maleque Evan, Assistant Professor of Drama & Dramatics, Jahangirnagar University.
The drama portrayed the struggles and aspirations of a group of people living in a society where social norms and traditions often limit their freedom and expression, all the while looking for something they believe belongs to them. The drama spoke of those who are surprisingly overlooked, those who remain with us and yet we do not think about. The storyline was thought-provoking and resonated with the audience, which was mostly students, faculty members, club advisers and staff of the university. Wonderful direction of the play, great performance from the entire cast and the superbly paced plot of the drama made it a memorable experience for the audience.
Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury, Associate Professor of English and Director, DSW graced the event as the Chief Guest while prominent actress and stage artist Bonna Mirza attended the event as the Special Guest. A good number of theatre personalities of the city also joined the program. Honorable guests appreciated the students of the drama club for the wonderful display of their talent in acting, stage design, and direction that left the audience thoroughly impressed.
The Club Adviser Ms. Tasmiah Aktar, Lecturer, Department of English coordinated the event.
