UAP Photography Club arranged its 8th Photo-walk

UAP Photography Club under the Directorate of Student’s Welfare (DSW) organized the 8th “Photo-Walk” on 26th January 2023 at different locations of Dhaka City focusing on Saraswati Puja, a major religious festival of the Hindu community, was observed on the same day.

UAP Central Photography Club organized its photo-walk on this day to capture the precious moments of the occasion. The photo-walk was held in the following locations of the city: Dhakeshwari Temple, Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, and Ramna Kali Mandir. The participants were divided into three groups, and each group was allocated at each location to explore at a time.

First, the participants visited Dhakeshwari Temple, a historical 12th century Hindu temple located in Old Dhaka. It is a holy place of spiritual beauty and architectural grandeur. They captured different moments of Saraswati Puja at the temple.

Next, the participants visited Jagannath Hall Puja Mandap located at Dhaka University where a huge number of devotees and crowd gathered to perform the religious rituals and visit the pandals. A total of 73 beautiful puja mandaps were constructed at the Jagannath Hall along with a large Saraswati idol was afloat in center of the pond of the hall.


Lastly, the participants visited Ramna Kali Mandir, a 16th century temple dedicated to the Goddess Kali. It is a beautiful temple surrounded by lush greenery. The participants felt the tranquil ambience of the temple and had a great time capturing the beauty of the temple and the precious expressions of the people. Twelve students of UAP participated in the photo-walk which started from the UAP plaza at 8 am and ended at 4 pm.
