ECDC organized its flagship event “Idea season 2.0”

On 21 March 2023 Entrepreneurship and Career Development Club (ECDC) organized the “Idea Season 2.0”, a business plan competition at UAP with the support of Eastern Bank Ltd. The competition focuses on inspiring and incubating the young would-be-entrepreneurs of the university.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific at UAP Plaza where the top 12 teams out of 40 teams showcased their idea. The Vice-Chancellor exhibited every stall in the plaza and gave his valuable feedback to all the teams.

Mr. Syed Zulkar Nayen, Head of Business Retail and SME Banking, Eastern Bank Limited and Mr. Shabab Din Shareq, Entrepreneur in Residence, Shop-up, were Judges along with one Judge from each department. They evaluated the ideas of the students and provided them with tips and tricks to make their ideas even better and make those ideas into business. The project exhibition ended at 3 pm.

In the closing ceremony, Dr. M. A. Baqui Khalily, Dean, School of Business UAP attended as the Chief Guest while Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury, Director, DSW and Ms. Tanzeri Hoque, Head of Priority Banking Liability and Wealth Management, Eastern Bank Limited attended the event as Special Guests. In their, speeches, all the honourable guests appreciated the initiative and ensured continued support.

Finally, the guests handed over the prize money to the top 3 teams namely ResQ, Upcycle Minds and The AdvoClien, the champion, first runner up and second runner-up, respectively.
The wonderful display of innovative ideas and their excellent presentation by the UAP students from all the departments are expected to make a significant impact among the UAP students.
