IEEE Bangladesh Section and the department of EEE, UAP jointly organized IEEE BDS CO-LOCATED CONFERENCES, 2022

A two-day-long conference titled “IEEE BDS CO-LOCATED CONFERENCES, 2022” jointly organized by the IEEE Bangladesh Section and the department of EEE, University of Asia Pacific, was held on June 24-25, 2022 at the UAP campus (hybrid mode).

The conference started with an inauguration ceremony where Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan (Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific) was present as the chief guest. Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, (IEEE WIE Committee Chair-Elect), Prof. Dr. M. Moshiul Haque (Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section), Dr. Tasnia Hossain, Head of EEE department, UAP, faculty members, students of EEE department UAP and students and faculty members of different Universities were present in the inauguration ceremony.

The first day consisted of different sessions with the keynote speaker from IEEE BDS, panel discussion, training session, workshop, and thesis paper and research paper competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students. On the next day including the keynote sessions different competitions namely pitching, debate, idea contest, case study etc. were held where students from different private and public Universities (BUET, BUP, CU, DUET, Leading University, RUET, NSU, UAP, etc.) participated in these competitions. Some of the participants also participated in virtual mode. The response from the participated members was pretty overwhelming.

The participants got a chance to attend and participate in the International Young Professionals Activities Conference (YPCON), International Student-LED Conference (STUDENT-LED CON), IEEE International Symposium on Social Implications of Sustainable Technology (SympSIST), International Professional Activities Conference (ProCon) and International Industrial Activities Conference (IndCon). This mega event was ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz and Dr. Tasnia Hossain
