Inter-Department Indoor Sports Tournament, Fall 21 held at UAP

UAP Indoor Games Club organized the “Inter-Department Indoor Sports Tournament, Fall 2021”. The Tournament was held from March 28, 2022, to April 02, 2022. The event had four main categories: Badminton, Carom, Chess, and Table Tennis. Apart from Chess, all the other categories had five different sub-categories: Male-single, Female-single, Male-doubles, Female-doubles, and Mixed-doubles.

The games were played in the knock-out format. The champion(s) of Badminton for Male-single was Tarikul Islam Tushar (Pharmacy), Female-single was Soniya Islam (English), Male-doubles was Jahidul Islam and Md. Fahim Montasir (English), Female-doubles were Afifa Akhter and Fahima Hossain (Law) and Mixed-doubles were Tahmid Sakir and Fatema Ferdousi (Law). The champion(s) of the Carom category for Male-single was Sabbir Arafat Shaown (EEE), Female-single was Jannatul Ferdous Esha (EEE), Male-doubles were Faysal Islam and Abir Mia (CE), Female-doubles were Fahima Hasan and Afifa Akter (Law), and Mixed-doubles were Tanvir Ahmed and Mahajabin Tasnim (EEE).

The champion of the Chess category for Male was Asaduzzaman Shaown (EEE) and Female was Fatema Ferdousi (DBA). The champion(s) of Table Tennis for Male-single was Mehedi Hassan Nobel (CE), Female-single Nasrata Sultana Moumita (English), Male-doubles were Mehedi Hassan Nobel and Mohaiminul Islam Dhrubo (CE), Female-doubles were Sumaya Akter and Sayra Rahman Neha (English), and Mixed-double were Shakil Hossain and Fariha Tasnim Mitu (Law). Three categories of the event: Carom, Chess and Table Tennis were arranged at the UAP Indoor Games Room and Badminton was arranged at the Mahmudul Hasan Indoor Badminton Court, Farmgate.

The prize-giving ceremony took place on 21st April at the UAP auditorium. The honourable Vice-Chancellor of UAP, Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan and Air Cadre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer-in-charge and Director, DSW of UAP, were present at the ceremony to hand over the crests and certificates to the winners.

Among others, the event was attended by Mr. Md. Tarek Khan, AD, DSW. Mr. Sabbir Ahmed Dibbo, Lecturer, Department of English and Adviser, Indoor Games Club, UAP was in charge of arranging the entire tournament. He also hosted the prize-giving session.
