INTER-DEPARTMENT DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP, FALL 2023

Debating and Public Speaking Club, Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), UAP organized the “Inter-Department Debating Championship, Fall 2023. The program commenced with the preliminary round on 19 April 2024 and culminated with the final round on 28 April 2024 at the UAP Auditorium. The esteemed Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, UAP.

Teams comprising three members each, totaling 10 teams from various departments of the University of Asia Pacific, vied for supremacy in the championship. Notably, Team Pacific from the Department of Law and Human Rights and Team Pharm-32 from the Department of Pharmacy emerged as finalists, with Team Pharm-32 clinching the championship title. The championship's victors, Nowrin Nahar Brishty, Dilruba Afrin Anindita, and Farhana Nigar from the Department of Pharmacy, were lauded for their exemplary performance. The runner-up team, comprising Ferdause Khan Fair, Humaira Adiba Kotha, and Saniur Rahman from the Department of Law and Human Rights, also received commendation.

Nowrin Nahar Brishty from Team Pharm-32 was awarded as the Debater of the Tournament, alongside, Farhana Nigar recognized as the Debater of the Final.

Distinguished figures in the debating circuit, Ayman Faiyaz, President of the Jessore University of Science and Technology Debate Club (JUSTDC), and Surjya Bhowmick, Organizing Secretary of the Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC), among others, served as adjudicators for the event.

Distinguished attendees included Dr. A. S. M. Mohsin, Director of DSW, Associate Professor of History, Department of BS&H along with other faculty members from different departments. Anuva Afsana, Advisor of the Debating and Public Speaking Club, covey vote of thanks to participating debaters, respected judges, faculties and audience. The event was co-powered by Hafiz EduZone (FEZ), a student consultancy firm.
