Saraswati Puja observed at UAP

Saraswati Puja, one of the main religious festivals of the Hindu community, was celebrated at UAP on 26 January 2023.

UAP Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Sultan Mahmud, visited the puja mandap in the morning. On the occasion of Saraswati puja, the Pro Vice Chancellor said, Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom in Hindu scriptures, appears on this day every year to give blessings. I hope that this universal blessing of the Goddess would inspire everyone with a generous and humane spirit. The students, in particular, seek the blessings of goddess Saraswati in their pursuit of knowledge, art, music and culture.

Goddess Saraswati is represented as a graceful woman in white, a symbol of purity and peace. She is the Hindu Goddess who signifies knowledge, learning, arts and culture. She is seen as the serene Goddess wearing a crescent moon on her brow riding a swan or seated on a lotus flower. Saraswati Puja is performed to pay allegiance to the Goddess of learning.

Among others Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mizanur Rahaman, Dean, School of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC); Prof. Dr. Tapan Kumar Chakrabarty; Assistant Professor Nahian Chowdhury; Assistant Professor Ms. Shamsun Nahar; Kabita Rani Paul, Assistant Controller of Examinations; were present at the ceremony.
