UAP Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed awarded the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Presidential Medal and Honorary Membership.

Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, Dean, School of Environmental Sciences and Design, UAP, has been awarded the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Presidential Medal and Honorary Membership. AIA Board of Directors conferred this prestigious accolade upon Prof. Dr. Sayeed to a Convocation Ceremony during the AIA Congress held on June 25, 2022 in Chicago, USA.

Prof. Dr. Sayeed is the current President of Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA), an organization of 22 Asian countries. He was also the former President of institute of Architects of Bangladesh.

This honor and medal has been awarded to Prof. Sayeed in recognition of his achievements not only within ARCASIA (Architects Regional Council of Asia) but also for his efforts to enhance the understanding and interaction of architects worldwide.

Prof. Dr. Sayeed is actively involved in the Heritage protection and preservation movement in Bangladesh, and is currently engaged in several restoration projects. Recently he received the “Award of Merit” of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
