On 19 February 2024, UAP Cultural Club, one of the central clubs of DSW organized a cultural event titled "Aji E Boshontey:1430," welcoming the arrival of the colorful Bangla season Boshonto with an array of cultural performances at the UAP Auditorium.
Distinguished members of the Board of Trustees, including Mr. Qayum Reza Chowdhury, Engr. M. Abu Taher, Dr. M. Alauddin, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, and the Director of the Directorate of Students' Welfare (DSW), Dr. A. S. M. Mohsin, graced the stage to share their insights and encouragement for the festivities. Heads and faculty members from various departments were also in attendance. The Guests commended the performances of the artists and lauded the UAP Cultural Club and DSW for orchestrating such a melodious musical evening.
The cultural extravaganza commenced at 4:30 PM and enraptured the audience until 7:30 PM, offering a diverse array of performances. Attendees were warmly embraced as the event sought to encapsulate the essence of spring and the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh. Ms. Layeqa Bashir, the Adviser of the UAP Cultural Club and Head, Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities alongside Assistant Adviser Mr. Taorem Rahul and Lecturer, Department of Architecture mentored the performers and seamlessly coordinated the event.
The evening showcased a spectrum of cultural expressions, including folk music, group and solo dance performances, recitations, renditions of Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Sangeet, and invigorating band performances highlighting the themes of spring, culture, tradition, and the vibrant landscape of Bangladesh. More than 250 students from different departments enjoyed the event cheerfully.
