A seminar titled "Powder Inhaler Formulation Opportunities" organized by the Seminar Organizing Committee, Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific, was held on January 9, 2023 at the Department of Pharmacy.
Dr. Shyamal Das, Associate Dean Research and Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand was present as the guest speaker of the seminar. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Professor, Dean, School of Medicine, Dr. Irin Dewan, Head, Department of Pharmacy, Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka, Dr. Syed Shabbir Haider, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Swarnali Islam Khandaker, Convener, Seminar Organizing Committee, Professor Dr. SM Ashraful Islam and other faculty members of the Department of Pharmacy joined the program. Ms. Samiha Mehnaz, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy moderated the program.
The program started with welcoming the guest with a flower bouquet after which Dr. Shyamal Das started his session. He began by sharing his career journey and then gave a brief overview of his research which mainly included powder inhaler technologies to improve drug therapy for various diseases such as asthma, tuberculosis, and recently COVID-19 as well. He also urged students to work hard and prepare themselves well before applying for higher studies abroad for research positions.
This was then followed by an interactive question and answer session. Later, Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza shared a few words of inspiration with students. Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan also shared his appreciation for the speaker in his speech and expressed his willingness for collaborative research.
