Workshop on “How Can We Assess Our Online Students” Organized by IQAC, University of Asia Pacific

To develop skills and improve the work spirit professionalism among the faculty members, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized an online based workshop titled “How can we assess our online students” on 29th August 2021.

The main topics of the workshop were various techniques on how to teach lessons properly to students and assess them in online. University of Asia Pacific, which is ranked 5th among private universities of Bangladesh by the SIMAGO INSTITUTE on 2021, is always striving for the quality of education and has been imparting international lessons to the students for the last 25 years. And in its continuation this workshop is organized only for the faculty members. A total of 36 faculty members nominated from 9 departments of the university participated in the workshop.

The main focus of the workshop was to improve faculty members existing professional expertise and building teamwork for serving the students and evaluate them. This workshop provides training to teachers on how to accurately assess their students online based on their teaching and learning activities.

The workshop was organized by Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha, Director, IQAC and Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. It was conducted by Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Chairman, Institute for the Development of Online Teaching (IDOL).

At the end of the workshop there was a question and answer session which is expected to be very helpful in giving online lessons and assessing the students. Certificates will be provided among the participants on the basis of attempt to all the activities given and submit the workshop’s assignment. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha expressed his vote of thanks to the participants as well as the IDOL team and hope that such a program would be held in a more comprehensive manner in the future.
