UAP celebrates the Victory Day 2021

DSW, UAP organized an online events to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Bangladesh’s Victory on 23 December, 2021 at 6.30 pm.

Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikrom, Energy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh was the Guest of Honor who kindly consented to share his unique contribution in the Bangladesh Liberation War with the UAP family. The Guest of Honor vividly shared the reminiscences of his joining the liberation war and how civilian official of the government chose to fight in the front line along with the regular forces of the Mukti Bahini.

Prof. Dr. Md. Sultan Mahmud, UAP, in his welcome speech, paid tributes the liberation war martyrs who laid down their lives for the country and expressed his gratitude to the Guests of Honor for his kind presence.

Air Cdre Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury (Retd.), Treasurer and Director, DSW, UAP gave a brief life sketch of Dr. Tawqfiq-e-Elahi. , He highlighted the brilliant academic career of the speaker, his leadership in the Liberation War and how he continued to serve the country in various important appointments that he held.

Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi’s speech generated much enthusiasm among the audience, which included members of the BOT, Faculty, Staff and a large body of students. The speaker enthusiastically answered the questions and queries.

The event was presided by Dr. M Alauddin, Member, BOT and Chairman (elect). In his presidential speech Dr. Alauddin thanked the Guest of Honor for taking his time out to be with us for so long. He admired the speaker for the courage and patriotism that he displayed during the Liberation War that continues to inspire future generations.
