Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of English will present a webinar on ‘Recognizing Author's Tone in Various Genres of Writing’ at UiTM, Malaysia

Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury, Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of English and Director of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), University of Asia Pacific (UAP) is going to present a webinar on ‘Recognizing Author's Tone in Various Genres of Writing’ on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia.


It may be noted that Mr. Chowdhury has recently accepted an invitation by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), a Malaysian public university which was established in 1956, to be one of their international teaching partners for a course titled Integrated Language Skills: Writing (ELC 231). This will potentially benefit both the universities by fostering further collaboration.

As a part of this collaborative project, UiTM has invited him as a speaker to this webinar which will be attended by 150 students and lecturers from the Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Sarawak Branch and UiTM Perlis Branch, Malaysia. This one-hour talk is designed to assist the students in evaluating articles and making critical commentary on the author's tone, purposes and main ideas in various genres of writing.

Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury, a faculty member of the Department of English, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) has over 22 years of teaching and research experience at university level. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. research in TESOL at the Universiti Sains Malaysia.
